Hey all, this site rocks, having a great time with it already.

I've been working my upper body lately (I'm just starting to work out). I'm aiming to build up my chest,shoulders,biceps,triceps... all that stuff.

I'm 6'1 184 lbs.

The problem I'm having right now is my chest. I'll do bench presses, and work on a lot of machines that target the chest, but I find my forearms are getting most of the workout in a lot of cases. Even with freeweights.

Can anybody help me with a chest/pec workout that I will be able to feel? I don't really know what the problem is. thanks.

make sure you build a good base first then you can start being serious. for my chest day I do 4 lifts.
bench 8-6-6-4 flye 10-8-8 dips 10-10-10 dumbbell pullovers 12-10-8
if you do this this should be a good building program for you but remember that your body will need a change after a while. so be sure to switch it up

I'm totally new to all of this stuff... so bare with me, I don't know all the terminology yet. Is there a place where I can see what dips/flyes and pullovers are? lol, I know that sounds dumb but I'm totally new! thanks.

Barbells are a good basic compound movement which can gain results however, may i suggest you experiment with dumbells?
The barbell will hit delts (shoulders) and triceps etc but the movement can be a little restrictive. Using dumbells will help isolate the chest and for me works better than a bar.
Incorporate dumbell press and flies into your workout and above all remember this - if you are working your chest then FOCUS on your chest - feel the contraction in the muscle and try and ignore the stress being placed on your arms. A little time and effort will result in the progress you desire - goodluck
