Hey everyone! New here to FT.
I know alcohol is absolutely against the fitness grain and all...but has anyone tried that new Low Carb ultra light beer? I think it's from michelob. I tried one and it did not taste too different from light beer. 2 gms of carbs???
Any comments???

I have walked by it thinking I got to try one of those. I do love the taste of a good beer. If I get some, maybe this weekend, I will post my taste on it. A six pack of beer in my fridge will last 2 months! LOL...Actually an occasional beer is not that bad for you. Not to mention it might help to take the edge off some!! :>}

Sure, it is beter for those not looking for that all-too-sexy beer gut look. But you also have to consider that alcohol itself has 7 calories per gram and is actually stored in fat cells. I drink about as much as bb1fit, but a couple here and there won't bother you. If Lee Priest can eat 38 Krispy Kreme donuts in one day (its true - I read it in a recent interview) and still place high in the Olympia competition, I think we can afford to have a low carb beer from time to time.

the biggest problem i have with this beer (besides the alcohol) is that it lists 2g of total carbs (not just sugar), 0.5g of protein, and 0g of fat, but the total caloric count is 96 cals!!!!!
maybe a little truth in labeling is needed...

Well, I didn't try it. After reading rev's post, kind of glad I didn't. Good we know something about figuring calories for ourselves! Knowledge!!

Just remembered, if you are wanting to lose fat alcohol blocks the process, so I'm back to square one! No boos.:(

Doesn't alchohol itself contain calories, just like macronutrients do? JBennett mentioned something about this, and I thought I remember reading that long ago. That most likely accounts for the remainder of the calories.
