I'm 17 6'2" weight 162lbs I recently lost 80+ lbs, and ive been working out as much as i can in my high schools weight room. Also training for the next Cross Country season. I was wondering if anyone could help me with a blister problem i have on my feet. I know it could be the shoes, but truely i dont think thats it. I've been running in them for about 6 months now and it just recently started. Any advice on how to get rid of them? or make them stop hurting? Also, I'de really appreciate some dietary tips on how to lose stuborn stomach fat (i know there isnt things such as spot reduction except lypo, and thats not happenin) Any advice would be greatly appreciated. WOW, congratulations on the 80+ lbs weightloss, that's awesome and welcome to FT! I'm not sure what could be causing your blister problem. Maybe your shoes have lost their support (worn out) so they rub your feet differently now. If you work out outside, maybe it has something to do with the warmer weather. Hopefully one of the experts here can tell you why.

I'm thinking shoes as well...I believe the life of a running shoe is six months....but like manny said...I'm sure there's an expert that knows better.

It would be easy to tell if it's the shoes. Try a new pair. If it gets better it's the shoes, if not, hey at least you have a new pair of shoes!!:laugh:

If you're running cross country the odds are your shoes are shot. Most long distance runners replace their shoes every 3 to 4 months and cross country is harder than marathon training. The mid sole wears out long before the outer sole. The problem is that you get creases on the inside of the shoe which might be what's causing your blisters.

Shoes lose their life at 6 months if you have been in them alot. Another thing to look at is your socks make sure they are good ones because I know what you're talking about when it comes to blisters I had to buy new shoes and new sock to stop the blisters.

Definetely go for new socks. Believe it or not, 100% cotton is the worst thing to wear. Get some cotton blend socks, I even have a pair with teflon in them to help with friction and the synthetic blend help wick moisture away. Any good running store will carry them (The running Room). Makes a huge difference. Good shoes are important as well- again a store that specializes in running can be a great help as they assess your running style.
