I am new to this program and just did my first workout yesterday. I entered my first day of meals today. My goal is to lose weight and tone up. I am obese and have been unhappy all my life because of it. I need all the help I can get and would appreciate any support I can get.
One question I do have is regarding my target calories for the day. I know they are way too high considering the doctor wants me to be on a 1400 calories diet. How do I modify them to a more acceptable level?
Hi I am new to the site too. 3 years ago I weighed 250lbs, diabetic and high blood pressure. No more shots now and the blood pressure in under control and now I weigh 127. If you are exercising on a reg schedule and eating the right foods on your diet then 1400 calories may be just right. The thing I have found to be most correct is lose it slowly and it will stay off. I firmly believe in cardio for fat loss, but do it after you exercise, you will burn more calories this way. I do something called Hit Cardio. What that is: speed the heart up and then slow it down. I do five mins. fast pace and five mins. reg pace back to five mins fast pace and so on, I think you get the picture. Pick your machine or walk on the track. I double my carbs to what my protien intake was. By the way my calorie intake when I first started was 1500. I lost it and I couldn't be prouder of myself. You can do it too. Hang in there and good things will happen.:)
Now why not listen to your doctor (who KNOWS you) and use Freetrainers to find some good food choices and stay with around 1400 calories daily, and then see how it'll go?
(by the way does your dr know that you're exercising?!!)
Listen to your body, if you feel too tired, eat more, if you don't have any fat loss, eat a little less.
