I just joined this site today. I need an affordable weight loss and exercise plan that is tapered to me & will teach me how to make healthy choices in a world that is loaded with unhealthy options. I want to lose almost 170 pounds and gain strength, despite a permanent neck injury. i cannot tell you how many plans i failed in the past. don't wish me luck--wish me willpower instead with lots of support and education along the way.

You can lose the weight despite the neck injury. The most important factor in your success is going to be Diet. Your's needs to take centerstage and always be your first focus. Without proper and healthy dieting, the weights and treadmills won't make a permenant dent.

thank you. the neck thing made me a bit nervous, but i do want to overcome any obstacle i have to being healthy. i like cooking with healthy, fresh organic ingredients. my ancestors were amish--somewhere! i know people think of that as being fat food, but really, its just using the freshest seasonal ingredients and big flavors. my first commitment to myself probably sounds silly, but its to get back to my roots and eliminate junk/processed foods.

Hi Khaat, welcome to f/t, and no your first commitment does not sound silly, in fact it is probably the best first step any body can make because all that the junk food does is clog up our arteries and heart, so good on you for taking the first step and remember that you can overcome whatever you want.
Good luck on all your goals.:)
