If you are just starting out go with a total body workout to get your body ready for training, I would say do this a least 6 weeks, (I will be corrected if I am wrong) If you have been working out for awhile I would suggest that you go 4 on 2 completly off and one day just cardio. That worked for me but you know your body better than anyone and how far you can take it. I never do legs with cardio, a good leg workout will give you all the workout you need for the day. Again if you are ready, break it up into bodyparts, not just upper body, lower body. Break your workouts up to maybe Biceps and Triceps, back and chest, legs and glutes, abs and cardio. Good luck to you and your goals, try the FT workout, it will break it up for you.

Good advice from Ms. Sandy, and I'll add that on the days when you do cardio and weight training, you should always do the cardio AFTER the weight training.
Also, depending on the intensity of your workouts, if weight training and cardio combined are taking you much longer than 90-120 minutes, you are risking burning muscle tissue for energy. Make sure you eat a decent pre-workout snack to ensure that doesn't happen.

Welcome to freetrainers JAke, and hope you acheive your goal.
Don't forget that diet plays a big role, so eat right, and also rest (sleep) well.
Good luck.

Hi Jakmi,
I read your goal, it was almost identical to mine. I lost my 50 pounds, it did however take me 8 months to achieve, however with a great deal of travel and "slipping" from the eating plan.
GO FOR IT, be realistic in your time frame, develop the cardio gradually, work the weights and along with it all keep a good eye on what you eat & drink.
