Hi everyone! I just joined the site yesterday and have already started my workout program. I have been running for a while but have not been part of a lifting program for about 7 months and I wanted to get back into it. I am using this site in lieu of a personal trainer this time.

Also, I am going on a cruise in February and want to drop a few pounds before the trip!

Several years ago when I first started working out I was severly overweight and out of shape. I gave myself one year to try and lose at least 40lbs. I ended up dropping about 60lbs in about 18 months and I have not looked back since!

At the end of that period, I rewarded myself by running a ten-mile race! It was an incredible accomplishment for me for which I was extremely proud. I no longer do distances like that, but I still run 3-4 miles a day around 3-5 times a week.
