Hi,

I'm new to this site, i have been working out regularly for the past few weeks in my garage and been eating a more healthy diet.
I have lost over a stone since the middle of february however the weight loss has stopped now (which is really confusing me).

I found this site while trying to get more weight loss suggestions.

Any tips on excercises (non gym) and eating plans would really be appreciated as i am currently at a bit of a loss.

Thanks,

There may be a number of answers that apply to your question. First, plateaus are normal. You may be in a routine that your body is accustomed to. Changing up your exercise routine is a way to deal with it. Keep your body guessing what you're going to do to it next.

Another possibility is that you are building muscle. Muscle is more dense than fat so it's possible to gain weight and actually get smaller. Scales are mediocre ways to track your progress. How your pants fit is the best way to judge if your program is working.

You may also need to reduce your caloric intake. This involves measuring and counting but it's worthwhile to be aware of what you eat. Most people are rotten at portion control. A good rule of thumb for serving size is that it should fit in the palm of your hand.

Welcome here and good luck.

hi charlie,

thank you very much for your reply i really appreciate it.
i did wonder whether my body was just getting used to the routine, im finding it a little difficult to mix it up at the moment as i have no time to go to gym so find im very restricted.

i was questioning whether i was doing something wrong as it just didnt make sense, especially as i have stopped drinking too, with regards to pants, they are a lot loser than they used to be so i think there is good being done.

i will take your advice onboard and keep you informed of the progress i make.

thanks once again.
