I've been working out for a while and have seen some results, but I have yet to even touch supplements. I'm just wondering what you guys would suggest for a guy that's trying to lose weight, and a little muscle. But the main focus is losing about 20-30 pounds. I think I'm going with protein shakes but not sure after that.
Sorry if this topic is done to death, I've been on this site for about a week...thanks.

a protein shake after your workout would be good.. how does your diet and workout routine breakdown?

Not really sure how indepth you were looking, but I used to just run, but now I just lift 5 days a week for about 45 minutes a day.
My diet is 2000 cal/284g carb/100g protein/40g fat/day. That's something I've been trying to improve.
I'm soooooo new to this it's ridiculous. Any help would be great, I really don't know where to start.

Ryan,
Well its good you realize that your diet is as important if not more than the exercise alone. What is your goal for workout? What I mean by that is do you want to look huge or fit and ripped? I have been on a program for sometime that is helping me trim my body, gain muscle and at the same time providing me good health and energy. Whatever program you choose, I would recommend you intake a balance of the essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals everyday that we need with a sound workout program. Good luck.

set up your nutritional plan through this site to see good levels of intake for your fitness goals.. maybe even try a fitness program
in terms of supplements, stick with a protein shake post workout, and maybe a multi vitamin everyday.
