Hi -- just came across this site. I was surfing the web trying to find a weight training program for a woman soon to be 55 who wants to maintain strength, balance and fitness. Am about 20 lbs overweight, dealing with a torn tendon (achilles), and am on a lifelong regimen of blood thinner therapy since I've had two blood clots over the past 10 years.

Sounds like I'm a mess, doesn't it? But I'm really not -- I do about 50 minues on my exercise bike 6 nights a week and do some fitness training on a paramount machine I have... but I'm pretty sure I'm not training effectively.

I look forward to reading the boards and receiving any advice about weight training or other exercise that will not exacerbate the tendon while it (very, very, very slowly!) heals.
