My name is Drew and I'm from IN. Im a 24 yr old male 5'6" and 205 lbs. I have just started going to the gym again after about an 8 year break. I have been going again for about 5 weeks but jsut started my 8 week routine from FT last week. My main goal is to tone up and lose the GUT. Any tips would be great. Just for starters I am doing cardio almost every day far about 30 min to 2hrs depending on whether I ride bikes or get on the treadmill. I've been doing that for about 2 weeks with what seems to be no changes. Am I being impatient or am I not doing enough? Any advice would be great

It all boils down to diet. This is pretty much the standard answer to these kind of questions but whatever excess you have didn't come on in 2 weeks so you can't expect it to go away in 2 weeks. Figure out what your caloric intake is and post that as it's more important than how much cardio you're doing. Someone will jump on and advise when you give more detail.

get a bodyfat caliper to test your bodyfat every other week or somthing around those lines or maybe every month to track your progress. It can be very motivating to see the fat come off!

Where can you get something like that (body fat caliper)? As far as calorie intake I've never really counted. But I have cut WAY down on things like portion size, caffeine, fried foods, and things of that nature. I've switched to drinking mostly Water, Propel and other flavored waters, and Caffeine free soda.
