Hey, I have been a member of the site for a long time, but I have never used the forums. But I want to be more active in the forums now. I am hoping that this will help me keep dedicated to this change in life style. I am hoping to start and stick to a diet and exercise routine starting Monday. but this is the 3rd time in about 5 months I have tried this. And every time I have done so in the 2nd or 3rd week I just quit and never go back. Anyways enough of my babbling. Thanks for reading this and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I also feel I should introduce myself a little, I am a former Marine. I got out of the military about a year ago and I am now working for Direct Tv as a install man...WOOT FUN! My name is Charles...And Thanks again for reading this! <3

Hi Charles :) Glad you decided to become more active in the forums.

Do you do too much, too soon and burn out? Have you set realistic goals?

You need to think of this as creating a new, healthier lifestyle for the longterm rather than a quick fix. Gradually change your habits and eating and ease into an exercise routine. this will help keep you from burning out and quitting...on the other hand...sometimes you just have to get into the mentality that it is not an option to quit. Get you gym clothes out every night before bed and put them on first thing in the morning. Tell yourself you have to go and do at least 10 minutes of your routine and if you aren't into after 10 minutes you can go back home. Usually you will stay and finish.

You have to be your own drill sergeant :)

I love that idea I have never thought about something like that, I mean cause once I am at the gym I love it. And as far as too much too fast, I never really get burnt out, just lazy, I am like man the gym is so far of a drive, and I had a long day at work ahead of me. So, I will just take today off and go tomorrow...then i dont end up going for a month. I set the goals, like I should, but I just get lazy. But we will see this time...Thanks for the great advice. I really appreciate it! <3
