Hi there, and welcome to the site! There is tons of information on this site, both in articles and in the forums. I've written a few things in various groups, including this one, as well as the "New to Exercise" group and "I am obese" group. The biggest thing that helped me was to learn as much as I could about physiology, nutrition, cardio fitness, and weight training. I felt that once I had a certain level of knowledge, I could determine what was true and what was just hype. At that point you can try what will work for you.
There's no better motivation for me than to see the weight come off, or to feel better after a workout than I did the week before. I'm also highly motivated to do this for my family. Utlimately, nobody can do the exercise for you, and nobody can enforce your diet but you. This is a change that has to come within. It's great to hear you're ready to get back to it! If you have any questions, post it in the forums. There's some really smart people that frequent this site, and they will help keep you on the right track!
