So I am now in my 30 somethings, married and have 3 children. I have not really worked out since highschool. Everytime I get in the mindset I get pregnant. LOL go figure. I want to get my figure back. I have gained weight I guess where most moms do the lower abs, hips.... a lot on the hips.... and my upper arms. I have tried the dieting route but that is way harder then it sounds. Didn't realize you have to watch just more then just calories. That made me super weak. And the cost to eat healthy is outrageous. Oh and vitamins... the only ones I have ever really had were prenatals. I have joined Planet Fitness and go almost everyday for like an hour or 2 and mix it up with the machines and cardio. I boosted my water intake...which that alone is impressive since I hate water. I try to get 72 oz in give or take a few. As far as eating I have oatmeal, protien shakes, some random veggies and fruit and like a lean cuisine for dinner. And I feel like a gremlin cause I do not eat after 9pm unless its a protien bar after a work out. I have been doing this for 3 weeks and I feel slightly thinner at times but that scale just hates me and has not budged. I am at 158 at 5'8 and my goal is in the 120-130 range. Not even sure what would be an ideal weight for a woman my age and size. Any suggestions on vitamins, different workouts and food?

Heya,
Good on ya for regularly going to the gym, exercising and watching what you eat. By the sounds of it you are doing all the right things.
A suggestion might be to measure your results in other ways, scales are NOT a true representation of what body changes are occuring. One example is muscle wieghs more and is more dense than fat. You could easily gain a little muscle and lose some fat without seeing any results on the scales. Other factors also come into play with scales like water retention, time of day etc. Try using other ways to measure, look at old photos, clothes size or tape measure.
Another suggestion is that wieght loss put simply is a energy deficit. Even though the food you are eating is healthy you can still eat more than your body requires.
You can definately be proud of what you have accomplished so far keep it up.

Thank you I think I am a bit hard on myself. Any suggestions on diet. I am trying this site on calculating my calories and I am failing. Today I am already over my sugar level and all I had was instant oatmeal, coffee and an apple :(
