Hi Mates,
Iam new in bodybuilding..an ectomprph and my normal muscles are very small so iam very very thin.. started working out with one of the fitness programs here.. to get to the point, I Bought a monohydrate creatine and 100% whey protein and Centrum multivitamin... I am planning to use these supplements to get good results but in the other hand i seek for saftey (specially on creatine).. so i decided to take the whey and creatine as the following: creatine: first week 10 grams/day, following 3 weeks 3 grams/day following 4 weeks nothing.. then redo the cycle again.. and for whey protein: 30 grams/day.. so is those does are safe? is it a good dose for good results ? can i increase dosage without passing the safety line? if so, how much? thanks for any help.. |

They do not need to be separated, but drink it down. Do not leave creatine sitting a fluid for an extensive period of time. Degrades fairly rapidly when suspended in a fluid.-------------- Strength and Honor! |

i take 5 grams of creatine a day post workout and i drink 3 protein shakes that each have 30 grams of protien in them. i would say your doses are safe, i am not a professional tho. also i have never really done the loading phase for creatine, i dont find it necessary. you might want to do a search on it, i think it is just to get ppl to buy more of their product.

There's no reason to load or to cycle off
Taking 5g for 30 days is same as taking 20g for 5 days....your muscles will be fully saturated in both cases....There's also no need to cycle off, it's a safe supplement...as long you don't have any kidney problems prior to using the supplement...I have been taking creatine for 3 years without cycling off...you can also try taking it every other day....mostly PWO... 30 g of whey protein is fine for a snack-like meal but it's just a small amount...aim for at least bodyweight in protein...and drink more water with creatine...1 gallon preferrably | |

You can do the loading phase if you want, but 10 gr. is not it.
And I don't know that I understand why you would change the dose to 3 gr.? If it is creatine mono, then if you can afford it, 5 pre and 5 post would be ideal. If not, just 5 gr. There are no saftey issues with creatine...your body produces it daily by combining 3 amino acids in the liver. It is not hormonal in any way. Whey you can do as much of as you like. It is fast absorbing though, so other than post workout not any real ideal times(naybe early morning). Other than that, more beneficial to eat whole foods. -------------- Strength and Honor! |

bb1fit,
its known that either creatine and protein intakes if huge, it will affect the kidneys! and i dont think (based on my resarches) that a loading stage of creatine of about 10 grams a day and mantience stage of lets say 3-5 per day is a good dose, and for protein lets say 60 gram per day |

Creatine is a cell volumizer. So water is drawn into the cell. So, you will gain some water weight that will be lost. But, you gain some explosiveness, power, thus can do more weight. By doing more weight, if your diet is good, you should thus be able to overload the muscle more efficiently, and so gain actual muscle. Only the water will be lost, not the muscle gained.

And so what is huge? Anything over 60 grams? How about the guy that weighs 130, 60 gr. for him? Or, how about the guy who weighs 220, 60 for him also? And going into catbolism on a daily basis working out?
And maybe I can understand your post....you are saying that you "don't think" 10 gr. a day is a good loading amount? Maybe you should read my post again, that is in fact what I said. ============ Quoting from Pink_Waters: bb1fit, its known that either creatine and protein intakes if huge, it will affect the kidneys! and i dont think (based on my resarches) that a loading stage of creatine of about 10 grams a day and mantience stage of lets say 3-5 per day is a good dose, and for protein lets say 60 gram per day ============= -------------- Strength and Honor! |

Pink there's no evidence that creatine damages kidneys in healthy individuals. It's an ongoing myth. Loading stage if you choose to do it is 5g 4 times a day for 5 days....ie 20g for 5 days....then 5g maintenance, you can go with more if you're a big guy ...say over 220-250lb, otherwise 5g should be fine. However I got good results by never doing a formal loading phase and just taking 5g daily. It's just as good after 30 days onward...plus if you're worried about stress on the kidneys, it's definitely easier...
