Greetings, all! I just joined freetrainers, and thought I'd introduce myself...
I'm a 27-year old who, after a three-year relationship and intense breakup, has positively balooned. This summer, I've gone from 160# to 180, and -- obviously -- the effects are visible. :)
I've rehashed my diet -- I used to eat lean meats / large amount of (low-fat) dairy, / moderate vegetables / large amount of (usually whole) grains. Now, I'm focusing on large amounts of vegetables, whole grains, low amounts of dairy, very restricted amounts of lean meats. I JUST recently (two weeks ago) started on this. Without any changes in my activity level, my weight gain seems to have stabilized.
Because of my work (court reporter), I'm quite sedentary, at least 10-12 hours a day. While I do and have practiced yoga, I want to incorporate moderate exercise (powerwalking, for instance) into my lifestyle... but I'm having trouble. Willpower's a pain in the butt.
Any suggestions / willful bootcamp officers / people willing to kick my ass are welcome. :)
Take care,
-Kris

You're absolutely right -- I just need to force it into my schedule. I'm making small steps, though. For example, I just returned from a two-mile hilly powerwalk. My heart rate was elevated and I feel it in my thighs and calves, so I know I accomplished *something* ... I just need to build a routine. :)
Thanks for the response.
yours,
-Kris
