Hi all! I'm from the UK, late 30's, and have let my fitness slip over the years! Recently decided to make a change, and tried running. All I've done is end up with aching ankles and creaking knees!
So - thought I'd join ft as it looks really popular, but need some advice as to what cardio would be best to do whilst my ankle/knee "injuries" settle down.

Sorry to hear about your ankle and knees.
Maybe rowing? Cycling would probably work. What kind of injuries are we talking about? Rowing and cycling are low impact and may be the best option.

Cheers man. The injuries aren't anything to worry about - having rested a couple of days, it's eased. Probably started too fast and the body protested!
Havn't rowed in years! Be a good one to give a whirl! cheers!

hope this doesn't sound too obvious but make sure you have a really decent pair of running shoes.

Since your training for a mini Tri, why not focus your training on the cycling and swimming until your ankles and knees feel better. This may also help strengthen you weak areas as well and hopefully you won't have as much problems when you start running again.
