HI, new to the site and have ben following your programme for a couple of weeks now and can already notice the differance interms of having more energy etc.

My goal when coming onto this site was to get myself in better shape for next years football (soccer to you non Brits) season when I will by living back in Liverpool, and to do this I was looking to gain about 20 - 30lbs of muscle mass and improve my cardiovascular fitness so I can stay at the top of my game for a full 90 minutes.

What I would like to know is what sort of balance should I have between cardio and weights? From reading some of the other posts I can see that both are important, but which is the harder to improve and so therefore should concentrate more on? Sorry if this is a bit of an obvious question but hey I'm new! Love the site by the way.

You lose your cardiovascualr conditioning faster than your muscular strength - you should be on a specific soccer conditioning program. Try doing a google search on soccer conditioning and see what comes up - I think you need to specific endurance building cardio program that includes sprintwork, running, and a lot of movement specific training.

See what you can find online, if you want I will do some zsearching as well.
