Let me turn the question back your way.....maybe you will understand. Why would it? If you do one more pushup, so what? You are not going to gain anything from that.

Did you ask the clerk at the store where you bought it? I'd be curious to know what he/she said.

YES! I did the push-up, sit-up, dips and pull-up thing only for over 10 years and it didn't do much for me, I stayed with belly fat and I didn't get great strength gains then I joined a gym and after about 2 month I gave into the weights and guess what, I wasted 10 or more years of my life with the non weight workouts!
All the stereo-types kept me away from the weights and since I can't turn back time I feel like a wasted a bunch of it and it really pisses me off!
Allthough adding the non weight workouts into your lifting is excelent!

Should have taken that and spent it on 3 or 4 months at the gym. Consider it a beginners mistake...don't do it again.
Seriously though here...you can take all the supplements in the world but until you get a gym membership or some serious weights at home none of them is going to help.
Really the purpose behind supplements is to overcome a plateau after years of a strict regimen. There is no supplement for lazyness or lack of funds.
WOW I think I found my future.

yea, and you can always pick those supps up at lower prices online.
If your ever faced with the choice of a gym membership or buying supplements. Pick the gym, because the supplements are just that "supplements" to help your workout and nutrition program.
