I use www.fitday.com for my diet and activity and I'm a little bit surprised about the BIG difference between total calorie intake and what I burn during the day.
I need to lose 4-5lbs for March (not competition shape yet), I'm 5'11, weight around 160lbs and 16% body fat.
Anyway, I eat around 1900-2100 Kcal but Fitday says that I burn around 2900-3300! :surprised:
I train A LOT but I don't have any problems with recovery or special fatigue, so I didn't think that I needed to eat more.
Ok, this IS a diet so it's normal that my calories are low but should they be THAT low comparing to my activity?

The number variations you got are precisely the reason any "formula" does not really indicate a precision amount of calories. there are so many variables to take into account, not to mention the obvious, metabolic rate, muscle mass, etc. This is precisely again the reason one person exactly the same weight and height as you can eat many more calories and not gain weight, while you eat less and do gain weight. I would suggest learning your body, as I am sure you have Nina. If the amount of intake you are getting is sustaining you like you want, then stay with it. Adjust as you need to gain or lose. If with your current activity level you are staying the same, then you are at your maintenance level or very close, and now you need to decide from here what you want to do whether gain or lose and adjust from there. I would not jump up to what some formula tells you if you are training and recouperating with no problems. You in the end will have to be the judge, if you start losing too fast, then your calories are indeed too low.

Well i wouldn't exactly go buy what a website calculator says as we all know the one on here isn't all that accurate. and second , it's different for everyone. Just by using a general rule for loosing weight that i plugged in using your info i got about 1900 calories which is what you say your at. I multiplied 12 being the number of calories times your body weight. and 2900-3300 calories does sound high for a women your size maybe that's a bulking plan because 2900 calories is what i eat a week to loose a pound a week and i'm a 5'11 male at 198lbs., hope i helped a little

Hi guys, thanks for answering so fast!
I got a burning metabolism -I never sit still for long and I train around 20 hours a week.
I was just wondering if the quality of my training AND my fat loss would be better if I ate more? :surprised:
