Hey guys i started my first week of the freetrainers.com schedule today.. my goal is to get leaner and lose that excess fat... in other words im trying to get cut. i put the 3 day a week program and it really seems like its not that much... i mean before i used to work out 3 days a week but 3 days upper body it was monday chest/tris tuesday back/bis and wednesdayshoulders/abs i felt much better last week when i was still doing it.. than this week. I don't know it just seems like it's not that hard of a work out for what i'm trying to achieve thanks for the help

What about your legs?
the odd thing about training is that sometimes as you advance less is more. Your previous program sounds more like a mass gaining split, but leaves your lower body out of the equation, which will eventually result in a very unbalanced physique and functional weakness.
To get leaner, look to your diet, follow a good total body program and do your cardio in your THR zone. Good luck!

legs are your foundation, we are bidepidal animals, ( we walk up right on two legs) so you need to train them with weights( squats lunges deadlifts etc)...........I don't care how much you bench or curl I could care less. Your body will only aloow you to get so out of porportion then it will stop making muscle for your upper body. Think about this.......working out indirectly amkes bones stonger, because a muscles can move more weight, the support fram has to get stronger. Kinda like how a crane that can left 45 tones, but the frame can only support 10 tons. WHats gonna happen to that cran.....fall down and go boom. If you don't train yoru legs, they will not only be week muscle wise but bone strength wise.
You can work out up to 5 days a week if you wish. It all depends on how fat your body recovers from the previous work out. Best way to figure this out is to try it. Work out for 5 days for a month or so and see hwo you feel, if you loose strength, cut it back to four days a week.

rest builds muscle, weightlifting damages the fibers and the rest heals them.

So lower body plyometrics is not enough for legs alone? Plyometrics is a pretty strenious excercise on your legs and joints. if i did workout my legs it would be 2 days upperbody 3 days lowerbody plyos and 1-2 days lowerbody weights don't think that's a lot of days to workout? please let me know your opinions

try this
mon chest,back
tues plyo
wed shoulders, bis
thurs rest
fri legs, tris
sat plyo
sun rest
you can do forearms when ever you have time, and you can do abbs after your plyo.........just a thought , you still have 2 days of rest in there, and a rest day before legs ,
