Your doc is right, you need to eat to keep high the metabolism. Try getting some protein shakes during the day.

Oh this is a very personal thing since it's a question about taste..... Right now I'm eating a Belgium one but I also like the EAS vanilla powder -great taste and not too expensive.

You are probably not hungry because your body has become super-efficient at living off the small number of calories you provide it and your metabolism has slowed to a crawl. This is exactly what you do not want. Start out with very small meals spread out 4 - 6 times a day. I am also wondering if you are not hungry because you are taking, perhaps unwittingly, some form of appetite suppressant. Do you drink coffee or some other caffeine source? If yes, stop it (at least until you start eating more regularly). Do you smoke? It also kills your appetite. Good luck!

Definitely angel!! so many people starve themselves from day to day because they are afraid of getting fat, while that is exactly how they are getting fat! your body knows it is only going to get that one meal a day so it holds on to as much fat as it can until the next day. your body is like a gas tank, it runs for a while releases the fule therefore needs to be filled up again and again to keep going. Your body is the same way, in order for it to release the fat, it has to be continously fed (every 1 1/2 to 2 hours). Even if you start out with light things like a banana, a cup of cottage cheese, yogurt. Start with small things and gradually work up to better meals, you will find yourself feeling better in no time.

Forget the slimfast. Start using a good meal replacement. Just compare the ingredients on slimfast to a real meal replacement and you will make your own decision after seeing all the bad fats and carbs it contains.
