Not recovering very well after work out

I seem to be having trouble recovering after my workout. I seem sluggish and beat down for hours after I'm all finished. I've just started taking whey protein, L-glutamine 500mg,amino fuel and a multi-vitamin. I thought I would recover alot better then this. What am I doing wrong? It makes it hard to workout when you know you'll be worthless for hours to come. If anyone has a solution or suggestion on what I can do please feel free add it. Thanks
