Hello,

I've read many articles about reps, and the weight used per rep.. In my program presently the reps go from 16-14-12-10 and I try to increse the weight per set.. However, I've read that if we can do 8 reps easily then there is not enough weight.. So am I supposed to NOT be able to finish the whole 16 reps of my program? I get a little confused.. Hope you guys could help! my program is fat loss and toning

I think that if you do a weight that will challenge you for each the 16, the 14, the 12 etc this will be fine. Increase the weight enough so that you have to work to reach these amounts - and by all means, if you can do a few extra reps do so, don't just stop at the recommended amounts. If you cannot make the necessary number of reps, decrease your weight next time until you can, but make sure you have to work to finish it. It will take a bit of time to establish your "numbers" so make the most of your time spent working out. Good luck :)
