Hey
For better eating, I was wondering what some nutrion snacks maybe besides my yogurt, cottage cheese, pretzels, and lower calorie protien bars. (btw..all are lower in fat and whole wheat)
thanx,

Apples, string cheese, soynuts, tuna, turkey slices, jerky. and I just recently found a good sweet snack for when I am feeling deprived. It is an icecream sandwich called silhouettes, by SkinnyCow. Each one has 130 calories, 5g protein and 2g fat, 23 carbs though, but it is still better than a cookie or piece of pie.

I found a good snack... Bean dip and baked tostitos. The tostitos are not the "best" in the world but they're still crunchy and stuff.
Total on those comes to...
20 chips and 4 tbsp bean dip
190 calories
7 proteins
34 carbos
and 3 fats
azredhead... is that an ok snack? Or are there too many carbs in it? Can you weight it out later with more proteins in something than carbs or what? I'm trying to figure out some snackage myself. hehe! ;)

How about some shrimp? (boiled, not fried) Great stuff, very nutrient dense, great snack. For instance, 12 jumbo shrimp are 14 gr. of protein, 65 calories. Have a salad or some veggies with it if you like.

you forgot coconut shrimp....gotta love Forrest, Forrest Gump!
Laney-that sounds like and ok snack. Pinto beans are a good food. I have that problem with chips too. Sometimes I think I will go crazy if I don't have a handful. Thank goodness there are some healthier choices now. I brek down and have some WOW chips once in a while. Not the greatest, but crunchy.

hahaha azredhead. My thing like that is tuna. I guess it's 'cause my mother craved tuna when she was pregnant with me. I have always eaten tuna all the time. Good thing it's lite huh?

I was just about to post an inquiry regarding snacks as I am feeling quite hungry now that the weather is turning cold.
Can anyone tell me what snacks to eat prior to a workout. I find around 3pm (nothing really surprising)v that I am hungry. At the moment I'm working out after 5pm, and I find if I haven't eaten, I tend to feel tired during my workout.
Many thanks,
Sidney
