Forgive my ignorance in this matter - I am pretty new to this whole thing.
According to the nutrition goals created to FT, I am coming up very short on my Carbs, Calories and Proteins, but coming very close on the Fats. I am wondering how concerned I should be about not reaching the suggested intakes in these four areas.
I appreciate any suggestions.

Well I was told that the nutrition will come over time, It is the hardest to conquer. I am having the same problem as you are with the fats, carbs, calories and proteins. I know where I am going wrong and it is eating foods with to much fat. Like eggs, the yoke is so full of fat that I ate two hard boild eggs one day and had 12 grams of fat taken up by just two eggs, but I haven't been able to give up the yokes so I just don't eat eggs : ( . If you go to the receipe area you will get ideas on what to eat to fit your new way of eating or diet LOL which ever you want to call it. Don't be to hard on yourself just don't give up. I hope with in the next year I will have my nutrition goals where they need to be, but if not I won't give up I need to meet my goals just like you do. Im sorry I couldn't help more but go to the Nutrition message board, that should help. Good Luck!

Ok, Im new to this whole thing, but the nutrition part can actually be the easy part if you have the mindset. I'm doing the BFL program and I think the nutrition plan is simple and effective. I've modified it slightly, but in a nutshell it's like this :

6 Meals per day.
Meals consist of 1 Protein portion and 1 Carb Portion.
Add A Vegetable to 2 of your 6 meals.
A Portion is the size of your palm of your hand.
2 Glasses of water per meal.

Thats alot of darn food too. The hard part is finding foods that fit into the Protein,Carb and Veg. department. For instance Corn is considered a Carb and not a vegetable. I seriously suggest you buy a book on nutrition. It will be indespensible in your journey.

Good post. I second you clandress. This diet does keep you feeling full if you eat right. And its hard to eat 2500 calories of good food too. I always have a hard time eating ENOUGH! I have to eat about 2500 calories per day and i usually only get around 2300 or so. It keeps you very full, at least it does for me :)

And i feel great. Keep me posted on your progress and Ill do the same for you if You are interested. Im in week 6. Private msg me if you want.

But some of us don't have the "mindset" right away, but it takes time and it can be VERY hard to conquer bad eating habits...took me a loooong time, even with 'motivation'. Atrueladi, I'm with ya'.

Amen to that dude. Id say i had on and off cravings through the first 3 weeks after starting. I had very very bad cravings the first week, especially the 2nd and 3rd days. But overcoming something at your weakest point is what makes all the difference. And I try to keep that mindset when finishing sets, dieting, or whatever it be..

Learning to eat correctly is our biggest problem in society today, and why our society keeps getting bigger and fatter as they say. It is very simple really, we are bombarded by junk food comercials, signs, billboards, etc. and intertwine that with ease and convenience, and it is easy to see why we are obese as a nation. We have become creatures of convenience, no time to make anything good, lets grab one of those "healthy chicken sandwiches" as they are pitched, but have big processed white buns and tons of bad condiments and deep fried. In this day and age, with both parties working(husband and wife), it is harder to eat a good diet, much easier to call out and order a pizza and have it waiting for you. This "convenience" problem must be overcome. The easiest way I have found is take a day, like Sunday, and grill up a couple dozen chicken breasts, bake a few sweet potatos and make some brown rice, and put them in bowls and freeze them in the proper portions. Each day take out your needed amount for the day, and be on your way. There are microwaves everywhere. If you have the right food with you, you will not need any of the "convenience" food.

I can't agree with you more Ron.

My Sunday's are my 'meal prep' days for the week. Boy what a difference it makes too. Not only do you have your lunch prepared and all you have to do is grab it all week BUT for me, i also make my dinners for the week in advance too(this is because of my very busy schedule during the week). It's a great plan and works!!!!
