I can't eat oatmeal just plain..I used to eat it with cream and sugar, but obviously can't do that anymore now that I'm trying to eat healthy. This morning I had it with a cut up banana and some nutmet.
What other Ideas for "spicing up" oatmeal do you have? |

I always add a scoop or two of my chocolate protein powder to my oatmeal uncooked. It tastes very good. Or, you can heat up the oatmeal, but let it cool down and then add your powder. Also, splenda is a great non-calorie sweetner to use as well.

If you like strawberries or peaches or blueberries, put 4 strawberries or 4 peach slices in the bottom of your bowl, then spoon the hot oats over them and it will thaw them nicely. And by the way, the fruits I mentioned (frozen variety), are good for natrual thermogenesis, which means that they elicit a thermogenic efect, thus causing your body to burn more fat than one would expect from a caloric deficit alone. I also use the new Luzianne flavorings like peach mango and rasberry. A capful or 2 with some splenda as dahayz mentioned is pretty tasty. Sprinkle a bit of protein powder on top.-------------- The one goal you will NEVER achieve is the one you never attempt. |

I like cinnamon, cardamon and vanilla in my oats. Cook and then add vanilla protein powder once they have cooled a little. i also add Atkins maple flavor syrup sometimes when I crave sweetness (I know, not the most natural stuff..)-------------- Challenge + Consistency = Results |

A little brown sugar or honey is fine to sweeten it up.
"Moderation is the key" I think that a banana has just as much sugar n-e-how. I use skim milk in my oatmeal. Remember? There are no bad foods-just people that eat to much good food. -------------- "Get everthing you want--just make a little change now" |

We eat alot of oatmeal in our house and I find that adding sweetner and flavorings like the ones that Luzianne Tea Company makes helps me to get it down, I like the peach the best.-------------- I will lift my own weight someday!!!!! |

I have frozen fruit in my oats often too. Sometimes a few "healthy fat" nuts are a nice addition too. If you're used to cream, a little skim milk won't hurt either.
If you want bananas, try adding them while the oats are cooking. The 'nanas get soft and the oats smell fantastic. I like to add a lil honey w/'nanas. -Krb |

There are bad foods. But they usually come from ill prepared foods that aren't bad. French fries, for instance. They start with the relatively innocuous potato and turn it into a super-sized heart attack maker. ============ Quoting from INTRUDER: A little brown sugar or honey is fine to sweeten it up. I put half a bananna, 1/2 cup of applesauce, dash of cinnamon, a little splenda, and a tablespoon of natty peanut butter in mine - absolutely fabulous mix!

I love to make mine with chocolate soy milk and a small amount of peanut butter. OR I use skim milk, cocoa powder, and peanut butter.
