Perhaps in a year or two I might enter a contest...just wondering if anyone can recommend a tanning dye/solution. I tried one and it was okay but looked a little fake. I am not really interested in tanning because of the damage the sun and artificial tanning salons cause.

Also, what is the best type of oil to use?

If you're looking for a good competition tan, I would recommend Jan Tanna's Competition Tan. It's an oil based solution, not alcohol based like Pro-Tan. Pro-Tan will make you look red. Some people might tell you to ue both, but using an oil base and and alcohol base together will mess things up - We will post a more indepth article on how to apply it properly as we get closer to the contest season (quite possibly as a tip of the week).

Different product work differently on different skin types. The thing that is a must is to tan and expholiate your skin prior to any application of tanning oil. If you are not tanned enought prior to the oil application, you might end up looking deep red! This is not a good thing, and may result to be a distraction from your physique. The key is also to put on more rather then less.. the stage lights are very bright!

Good Luck

I think a little natural tan base is a good foundation for enhancing skin toners. Try a low level tanning bed.

I like por tan you can make it as dark or light as you want by the amount of applications you apply.

Dream Tan is the best. I had the best tan at my NABBA competition.

Has anyone ever heard of Mystic tan? I heard about it the other day...and heard it is awesome. A girl explained it me like this...she said you stand in room...and you get sprayed all over your body with this "stuff"...(she used an example of a drive through car wash...but for your body)She said that when you get out...you wipe your body clean...and you are left with a really nice, safe tan! She said the website is mystictan.com (I think) and I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. She says it doesn't stain your clothing...and that it lasts a long time....

I'm just sharing what I was told...so if anyone else knows more about this...let us know!!

Hmmmm..something to think about for a base tan...and then you can use the competition stuff....

Trying to help!

i like to keep a tan year round a little color helps the bod look good! plus yes with summer coming on i do not have much time to get outside so this will get me ahead.my friends that have entered contest rate jan tana very high. i might try some within the next couple of weeks to see how it works. better to be safe and find something now.i will keep you posted on how it does.

Yes I agree. Better find a good tanning lotion now and use it than just before the competition where you'll probably get it all messed up because of nerves!! (o:

I'm trying diff ones right now.

Anyway, the skin looks better tanned.
