everyone is different, i fyou want a body builder physique then work out like one, most prefere more reps than weight, or moderate weight moderate reps......powerlifters.......do reps closer to their " max" lift to get power so they can surpass that.............but stimili works differnt for certain people

strength will be gained first off. Size will also be gained, as these fibers have the most potential for growth, but if you constantly do just this type of workout, you are neglecting half your body, and big potential for growth. This is where a workout scheme like Max Ot fails...they insist on one and only one way, heavy reps, 4-6 rep range. If the muscles were all the same, then this would work. But, there may be 100,000 muscle fibers within a muscle, and most many more. If you only do heavy short reps, you neglect a large potential for growth by not hitting the slow twitch fibers, which will never come into play with low rep schemes. For instance, take the abs, they are almost divided equally between fast and slow twitch fibers, so a low rep scheme combined with high reps will hit the most fibers.

Leilita808...sorry if I led you to the wrong conclusion. It really isn't so involved if you are just the casual lifter, or someone who just wants to get in good enough shape to take off their shirt at the beach and feel a bit buff. In that case I would suggest heaviest weight you can for 5-8 reps, with sprinkles of sets of 9-12 also. But, if you want to take it to another level, like bodybuilding, then indeed it does become much more involved. But in your case, you needn't worry about that. Sorry about the confusion.
