Ok. Most days that I cook a full breakfast, I either make omlettes or a scramble. Both of these consist of lean ground beef or ground turkey, a sprinkle of cheese, 6-7eggs(this is for 2 people, me and my hubs)salsa, and one lone potato.

I was talking to my cousin, and he said that the reason I am not losing weight is because of this single potato. Is it really possible that me eating about 1/3 of a potato in my breakfast can completely stop me from losing weight? Seems a little far fetched to me.

maybe - probably not how big is the potato? There are better options and would probably be better if you avoided the potato. It is also hard to say why you are not loosing weght since I don't know your portion sizes as well. Well, there's a start to an answer for you.
Good Luck

the potatoes we use are about the size of.... one of the small cans of campbells condensed soups. They fit easily into the palm of my hand. The one potatoe, about 1 cup(pre-cooked) meat, about 1/8th a cup of cheese, and then 6-7 eggs all cooked together, with my husband getting 2/3 of the entire batch. Does that explination help at all?

Cristal I doubt seriously if the potato is hurting you, especially if you are preparing it carefully. I'm going to suggest that you cut the yolks down to 2, so 6-7 egg whites with 1-2 egg yolks and cheese, 1/4 cup if it's low fat, throw in some green peppers and onions if you like. If the potato still bothers you, change to a sweet potato or yam.

Probably not, in fact if you are going to have a potato, or something higher on the glycemic scale, first thing in the morning may well be the best time, as insulin sensitivity is high, and shouldn't hurt you. (still wouldn't advise it though, especially when bodyfat gets really low, then all the stops have to be pulled, and in that case it would be hurting you).

The reason you are not losing weight is you have to be at maintenance. Your diet/exercise you were doing that originally created a caloric deficit has now become your maintenance more than likely. When this happens, it is time to make another calorie cut. No other way to tap your fat stores except a caloric deficit. If your calories are already very low, then you mistimed things and will have to add calorie burn to achieve this. This becomes hard, and why many have to actually increase their calories again to start anew.

I don't know what your current status or diet is, I am just going by your own statement. I have been doing this for a long time, and there is no other way.

I know that in the past, when you have posted your diet, your mealtimes have been spaced out too far - what are they like now? Why not post your diet for a few days and see if we can help.

Well, the diet is still an issue and I know this. For a while over the summer I was eating every 2-3 hours, and getting in a fairly good amount of calories(for me thats 1800 a day) Now however, we are back to being poor(at least for the next month)and food is pretty much non exisitant. At the end of this month though, I should be able to make a huge change, as my husband got a new job which will enable us to buy good foods in the right quanities, every month!!

Also, I know that a lot of my inability to lose weight is due to inconsistancy with my workouts, but that is chaning as well with my husbands new job. He has to be at work at 5am, and I don't have to be at work until 9am. So, all last week, and this morning too, I worked on the eliptical for 30 minutes. I think that will help a lot. So...we'll see how things change, and I will make sure to post any progress I see!
