looking to lay down the cold hard facts here for the post workout nutrition. currently i take my creatine + gatorade immediately postworkout, then about 30-45 mins later have my protein shake and glutamine with a postworkout meal. have heard alot of differing opinions on taking the creatine with the whey immediately postworkout, separating the 2, combining the creatine with a simple sugar for better absorption, etc. and want to just have a few questions addressed:
1) is my combo ok? im under the impression that as long as you get protein into your system within about an hour of your workout, you dont risk muscle degradation. the whey is best for fast absorption, and say chicken, beef, etc. will be broken down over a longer period of time.
2) can u combine the creatine + whey + glutamine immediately postworkout? again, i am under the impression that mixing the creatine with a simple sugar increases absorption (hence the gatorade), so would it suffice to just mix the creatine monohydrate powder with the protein shake and glutamine, minus the gatorade? or should i do a creatine and gatorade shake, immediately followed by a protein and glutamine shake, with a meal about an hour later?
ive just been struggling with these specifics for a little while and would like some other pro opinions on the matter..
