I started taking ortho and gained 20 pounds in two months, which was not so bad because I was 120 and I am 5'9". did anyone else have this problem with ortho??? I stopped taking it 3 weeks ago and I have gone down to 135 now.

I don't know if this helps, but the average weight gain with the Depo shot is only 4 lbs a year, and thats been pretty standard with me and I have been on it for 3 years.

to some extent yes bc means weight gain, but Lelita's case was an exception, not the rule, the normal weight gain with bc is 4-6 lbs a year.

hi hi...=) my doc gave me Yasmin three days ago to try and get my cycle back to normal after the ortho. I now know my case is rare because I never had a "normal female cycle" because my body fat was always naturally low 11-14% because of sports. after my injury (no training for a little over 2 months) in conjunction with starting the bcp I gained weight and my body fat went to 15.1%.
