I was walking by the strength center other day on my way to my car.......and I noticed some of the people doing a clean, pressing it, then while holding over head doing a lunge with each side.
Is this for core strength and body control? Cause it looks kinda awarkward, and dangerous to me.

so it looks like a reverse jerk?...I am guessing it's one of those poorly thought out balance exercises....just like putting legs in the air for bench...

no its basicly a mil press, standing...then doing a lunge with weight still over head........makes me hurt to think about it lol

jeez...I think I'll skip this one.....
but you know the technique when olympic lifters fall into a split leg position during clean and jerk and then get up with the weight....sounds similar...

yea I know, my legs go out when i clean.....I lean forward slightly though when I lunge, but to stand perfectly erect.......and hold somthing over my head......think i skip it too.
BUt i guess it has it uses.

I like that exercise. It is a combo exercise that is more for killing two birds with one stone. I would do it after the 1 power and 1 strength exercise of a leg day.

do you clean it every time, then press then lunge? or clean in once, then lunge for how ever many reps?
I kinda curiosu to try it, but i'm awarkward lol

Try this.
Hang clean --> Push press --> Right leg lunge then left leg lunge, bring the weight down and do it again. Try 3 reps starting off. Go light. It is more for work capacity and strength-balance.
