I'm nearly 49 and have been active all my adult life. I love exercise but my question is am I doing to much and should I change or slow down to get better results or save my body. Currently I ride stationary bike early AM 5 days a week for 40min. Ride road or mountain bike 1-2hrs two other days usually on weekend. Play tennis one or two evenings. Walk the Golf course 2 evenings. Lift for 40 min 3x per week during lunch, general circuit training. With all this I still carry an extra 20lbs. Also, had a hip replaced almost two years ago.

without knowing really anything about you (fill out your profile?), i would say, after looking at your training, what about your diet? i mean, it looks like your bustin' your a$$ in the gym, but if your diet sucks, your progression will be limited.

To rev8ball Thanks for the response. I guess I need to face the fact that I my age diet is becoming the most important factor. I definitely have more willpower in the gym than in the kitchen.

i personally wouldn't say u should cut off on the exercise! Its very important, especially in your age and its healthy to exercise that much. But you should work on your diet, which is also a very important factor in weight-training and a healthy life...its difficult at the beginning to 'assimilate' to your new diet, but it gets easier as with everything by time and then you'll feel a whole lot better.
i don't think i pointed out anything u didn't already know-but a little reminder might be encouraging...:)
