I find that when I am doing any of the calf workouts the ligaments in the arches of my feet get extremely tight, to the point that it hurts and I cant physically do any more reps. I feel like the arches of my feet give out well before my calves do. Is there anyway that I can alleviate this problem so that I can focus more on just my calves.
Thanks,
Zach

It sounds like you may have slightly fallen arches. Nothing to worry about. Just use good shoes that have arch supports and keep on pumpin. ============ Quoting from zrf100:

switching your shoes may aggravate the problem because the supports become a crutch and you don't adress the weakness in your arvhes. Try doing this a couple of times a week - sit in a chair with your feet on floor, on a flat towel. Scrunch the towel towards you , using your toes to grab and pull it in. There are other exercises that will strengthen your arches - if you want me to look them up, or find them and give you the specfic book titles I will.

Sounds like flat feet. Make sure you have good support and follw asimmers advice with the towel scrunches and also sit at the edge of a bed or on a chair and put a pencil on the floor and pick it up and put it down with your toes. Also you can sit with your leg crossed over your knee and just raise and lower your feet from your instep, without moving your legs. I was born club foot, and had no arches. I had operations to straighten out my feet, and you wouldn't know it, but the arches are week, and thats what I do, and never problems.
