I have a sore wrist so I'm going to do pauses in place of max effort this week on the bench so my question is do I load the same weight as I would for DE which is 60% of my 1 rep max.
I'm pretty sure that's the way it works but not totally sure and I was looking at replacing the 5x5 ME bench with a 5x5 pauses with a 4 second pause.
I had no issues with DE Monday at 60% so I'm confident with the pauses if I have it correct with the weight load %.

So your wrist is hurt..and you want to add MORE time under the bar?

You got that correct, I maxed Push Presses with ease yesterday.
It's sore but not broken or crippling in anyway, it's not a injury.
I don't want to max bench with it but as stated speed bench was a piece of cake.

If push presses didn't bother it..why bother....especially with a 4 count pause?

Well the Push Press Max isn't as heavy as my bench and I may not want to max for another week so a pause bench is what I'm looking at.
As the original post stated I did Speed Bench Monday so Friday tomorrow I will go with Pause Bench in place of Max.
So again the question is, am I correct about pauses being about 60% of max like the speed bench?

Went for max and got it then on speed day I did the pauses and yes the were best done for a 5x5 at 60% of 1rm.
