Yes, but use Natural Peanut Butter. Not Skippy or Jif! -------------- As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it. Ron |

2 tbsp. will have 7 gr. of protein, 7 gr. of carbs, and 200 calories. 16 gr. of fat.-------------- As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it. Ron |

I might add to this that you should not depend on peanut butter for your source of fats only. Make sure you use flax oil and olive oils for example. You need to get your Omega 3's and 6's. Fish oils are also great, and salmon is a wonderful source.

I love peanut butter....by the spoonful, which is why with that amount of fat I have to stay away from it until my nutrition program changes. That would be almost half of my daily allowance.-------------- ~Victoria~ ...Some things have to be believed to be seen! |

one serving is MORE than the amount of fat I'm allowed daily! I had salmon tonight and went 7 grams over my recommended daily fat allowance... "oops"

Wow...that is unreal. What is your calorie ratio. If you are on say a 20% fat ratio at 2000 calories per day, that is 400 calories of fat spread throughout the day on your diet. 2 tbsp. of peanut butter at 16 gr. of fat is 144 calories. That leaves 256 calories from fat yet to be consumed in your diet.-------------- As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it. Ron |

Well I guess that's what I'm allowed...16 grams. Freetrainers has me eat 1400 cals a day. What the ratio is... I don't know exactly. But I am allowed 16 grams of fat a day. it's very difficult!

Yikes...well, I would opt then for 1 tbsp. of flax oil. It is 10 gr. of fat, and cook in olive oil will yeild the rest. Better than peanut butter.-------------- As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it. Ron |

actually I usually get my fats from lots of little things, like the couple grams in oatmeal, in chicken, bread, hummus, things like that.. by the end of the day, i always have my 16 grams without using any olive oil or anything. It would be nice to be able to cook in olive oil, i love the taste, but I usually just grill dry or I'll go over my daily allowance.

Do not waste your time counting the fat in oatmeal, bread, etc.. You need useful fats, EFA's. Cook in olive oil and count that.-------------- As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it. Ron |

The fat in oats for example is meaningless. You are after EFA's for healthy reasons. Cook in olive oil, and take a tbsp. of flax oil, but do not combine it with a high carb meal(the flax oil).-------------- As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. Separate your high complex carb/protein meals with fat. Have either protein/carbs, or protein/fats. In fact, for the most part, fats are better utilized toward late afternoon and evening, where carbs are better early. You are more insulin sensitive in the morning for instance, so you can soak up more carbs for muscle glycogen. As the day goes on, the opposite becomes the case, and combining the two is a no-no. That is asking for fat storage.-------------- As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it. Ron |

I used to love peanut butter of any kind. For the last few years I have been eating natural PB only. I tried my old fav (Jiff) the other day. Holy smokes it tasted like plastic. For those of you that have never tried natural PB, you REALLY should. Yeah you have to stir it, but it is much better for you. I just can't see how I settled for anything less than natural before. I must have been plain nutty!:laugh: I'm here all week folks.
