I have just recently become a HUGE Pink Floyd fan. I had heard maybe 3 Pink Floyd songs a week ago and now I can't stop listening to the entire Dark Side Of The Moon album. Anybody else have this "problem"?

You know, "Dark Side" was on the charts for some bizarre amount of years, but I've never heard the whole CD. I love "The Wall."

Good CD. I did the whole "Dark Side of the Moon" thing while watching the Wizzard of Oz a couple of years ago. If you havne't done this, I know it's a little juvenile, but it's pretty weird! Worth doing just once. ha ha. So, I got hooked again. I used to listen to The Wall over and over again several years ago. Comfortably Numb is my fav.

Absolutely gs. I need to go to the music store and stock up on some old Floyd music. Now y'all have me craving it! I used to have a ton of CD's, but several friends and boyfriends later taking them, I'm just down to the Wall again. Time to re-stock!

I downloaded Wish You Were Here. I love turning out the lights and sitting back and listening. I can't believe I went 16 years without listening to Pink Floyd.

I'll use this thread to make a side note: I got to see RUSH this past Saturday night.... UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVEABLE! They have got to be the most talented band ever. I've seen them in the past (quite some time ago), but I just can't believe how the three of them have stayed together for so long, always putting together great music. They are supposed to put out a DVD for this tour ("Snakes & Arrows") - I strongly advised you to watch it....-------------- Michael Humble, even in Victory. |

I love Pink Floyd! I have every Pink Floyd CD that there is, and a couple of posters. Truly ground-breaking rock and roll unlike anything else before or sense. I especially like Family Portrait and Get The Party Started. I just had no idea that her last name was Floyd! :surprised:-------------- Dont tempt me; Im where I wanna be Cause on the eighth day, God made sweet tea. -Cravin Melon |

haha i didnt even notice what steve wrote. Seeing as how we are talking about good music, are there any KISS fans? I was supposed to see them when they were on tour with Poison. I had the money and everything but my mom wouldnt take me because she had a date. I was pretty sad. lol

Poison?!!! I LOVED Poison in the 80's! I was a total big hair band groupie. lol. Now I'M feeling old! Yes, Kiss is pretty good too. Not as good as Pink Floyd, but good none the less. I listened to the "Best of Jimmy Buffet" on the way to work this morning. I am in the mood to be on a beach drinking Margaritas today and thought that would help console me. It didn't. I still want to be on the beach with a Margarita.

Nothing is more fun to me than watching VH1 Classic videos with my kids and telling them that one day they're going to be laughing at the stuff that they thought was cool too!

Isn't that depressing Steve? We were listening to the "oldies" station the other day, and "Walk this Way" by Run DMC and Aerosmith came on. Hubby and I were jamming out, my son said "this music is dumb!" It was quite depressing to hear it on the oldies station though!!!

My favorite quote from a "Franky Goes To Hollywood" fan that they showed on VH1: "People say it's just a fad, but they're not. I mean that's what they said about Culture Club and Duran Duran and the Beatles! Look at them now!" And of course, he was wearing his FRANKY SAYS RELAX shirt.
If it wasn't for Guitar Hero on PlayStation, my children wouldn't know what "Free Bird" is! (GASP!) That just ain't right down here where we stand and take off our hats when they play "Sweet Home Alabama!" |
