I have been at my current weight for about a year now. I am 147 lbs and i am 5 feet 7 inches. I know i am not overweight but i would like to lose another 10lbs to be where i was a few years ago. I was a college athlete ( soccer player) until i hurt my knee a few years back. I am still working out and i eat well but i cant lose anymore weight. The one main hinderance i have is that i can not run. I dont eat red meat or seafood ( except tuna). Does anyone recommend any supplements, or have any other advice? I am willing to do almost anything new to firm myself up that last bit.

Keep up your weight training and cardio. Perhaps you need to tweak your diet. Put up the protein and down the carbs.
I am not a big fan of supplements except for protein.
I would suggest that to enhance your diet.

I do protein shakes after my workouts. I do think i need to tweak my diet but it is hard with my schedule to eat clean all the time. I never have fried foods or anything like that but i just find it difficult to find really good options. Protein bars upset my stomach if i have them too often. What is a good thing that i can take and throw in my bag?

You may well already be doing it but I moved the emphasis of my meals to earlier in the day. I now have a fairly big breakfast, then a light snack before training a fairly big lunch about an hour after training (so as not to draw blood from my muscles for digestion) then a smaller dinner. I found that this helped a lot; it also meant that if I felt hungry and went looking for snacks it was when I was at home so have fruit and veg to snack on rather than commercially available snacks. I managed to drop my percentage body fat by 5% over 3months doing this, though I also increased my cardio work over the period so this will skew the results.

I have also cut out fat from my diet by investing in a very good frying pan so I hardly ever have to add fat when frying. I also trim the fat from any meat before cooking; this also gives me a psychological boost as I physically hold the lump of fat and think that this would otherwise be on my stomach.

Hope this is of use.

My wife has a bad knee but is able to row without any problem. If you can do that, it is a great excercise. Also, if you can do it 1st thing in the morning on an empty stomach, you will burn much more fat then after taking in any type of calories. Don't eat or drink anything but water until after your shower etc. and you will continue to burn fat. Select interval training on the rower if they have it and if not then use your watch and to 20 minutes alternating one minute easy and one minute intense.

i do workout on an empty stomach as long as i can get to the gym in the morning. if in the afternoon then i try to plan a good last meal before i hit the gym so i have the energy. I will try the rowing machine and see how that is. i will also make breakfast bigger the days i work out later in the day and see if that helps..thanks everyone!@!
