I'm 22, 184 lbs., I lift 5 times per week, I do minimal cardio, my goal is to maintain my current weight or lose a small amount. Does the fact that I lack fruits and vegetables really matter? I do take vitamins.

Meal 1: 9 egg whites, 3/4 cup oatmeal (375 cal)
Meal 2: Natural PB and sugar free jelly on whole wheat sandwich (375 cal)
Meal 3: 1 cup grapenuts w/ 1 cup skim milk (480 cal.)
Meal 4: Tuna/Chicken/pork 6 oz., 2 whole wheat tortillas (375 cal.)
Meal 5: Repeat meal 4
Meal 6: repeat meal 2
Meal 7: repeat either meal 1 or 4

I would throw some veggies in, but you really don't need the fruits. Maybe add some to Meal 4 and 7 instead of whole wheat tortillas.

--------------
- Its never about how much you can lift, or how many reps you do. Its just about doing it, and doing it right.
- If your hungry all the time, your not eating enough. And anyways, being hungry sucks.

repeat meals are boring... a day is ok but tommorrow should be quite different(my opinion). Variety gives different poisons and different vitamins and minerals, proteins even. So your system plays with what you put in and hopefully performs it's best.

Fruit and veg I do believe should be between 5 and 9 different portions a day and different colours such as
an example might be tomato, yellow pepper, brocoli, raspberries, carrot, celery, cucumber. Same reasons for different vitamins etc... (based on a typical 'normal' eating plan)

so try 5 portions but make it like very small portions a cupful or less per measure.I mean don't have to get carried away with the fruit thing. But some is better than none.

theres nothing wrong with your choices but I would say your fibre intake is very low- a bit of fruit/veg/bread would supplement your oats and tortillas...

hey I'm saying this and yesterday started a simple 2 week low carb high protein fishy fad diet with no fruit!!
Trust me though I'm an Englishman(as if it makes a difference)
