:(Hi, my name is Brittany, and I am very new to this. I have a question. My prom is in 6 weeks. I would like to lose at least 20 pounds. Is possible to lose this amount of weight in 6 weeks. My face is very round and I have a double chin and when I exercise it is usually the first thing that disapears. So please help.

Hello Brittany and welcome to ft. 20 lbs in 6 weeks equals about 3 or so pounds a week. A good healthy weight loss is about 2 or so lbs per week. Clean up your diet and toss the junk. Sugars, high-fat foods, and refined foods have to go. No soft drinks. Start the day with a good breakfast and try to eat 4-6 small meals per day. Begin an exercise program (cardio and strebgth training) 3-5 times per week. If you need some ideas Instant Message me or post your questions. If you work at it you may not lose 20 lbs in 6 weeks but you will definitely lose alot of it. Not only will you look better in your prom dress but you'll feel better as well. Whatever you do, don't try to starve yourself because you will do more harm than good in the long run. Good Luck

Hi brittany
just to expand on what agamble said
the reason for aiming for about 2lbs a week weight loss is that you can only lose about this much fat a week. If you lose weight much quicker than this then the weight you are losing is not fat but muscle and water.
throw out the scales and get yourself a measuring tape!
