I first read this poem years ago, and it's been part of my creed ever since. I finally found it here in my office today, in its entire form, after searching for it for I don't know how long. For those of us who have ever seen the results from real squats and have heard these excuses in the gym, you'll appreciate it. Enjoy........
Down the road, in a gym far away A young man was heard to say, "No matter what I do, my legs won't grow! He tried leg extensions, leg curls, leg presses too. Trying to cheat, these sissy workouts he'd do! From the corner of the gym where the big guys train, Through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain, Where the big iron rides high, and threaten lives, Where the noise is made with big forty-fives, A deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees, A very big man with legs like trees, Laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack, Chalked his hands and monstrous back, Said, "Boy, stop lying and don't say you've forgotten! Trouble with you is you ain't been SQUATTIN'!

That is GREAT! I saw that one day while surfing, read it aloud to my co-workers (who already think I am a freak!) and then proceeded to lose it. I swear I checked my history, even the registry and I couldn't find the page it was on. Thanks for re-surfacing it Rev. I too am making a copy.

Beautiful, rev. I have a tear on my cheek right now....
Kidding! Seriously, very cool. Do you know if the "Maddog" has written any others? It would be cool to have a 'poetry corner' of sorts to display the works of accomplished powerlifters and bodybuilders. Its nice to see that some people have a brain to go along with the braun.
