This is my post workout meal, and I was hoping someone could look at it and see if I'm getting everything I need, I usually consume within 1.5 hours after the workout, I also have a whey protein shake immediately after workout.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

2 Pieces(varies, approx 300-500gms) of blade\loin steak, or chicken breast.
1 cup of green peas(Steamed)
1 or more cups of Broccoli(Steamed)
1 or 2 half corn on the cob(Steamed)
3 or 4 potatoes Baked(with a touch of olive oil) or Mashed

On workout days I would generally eat 2 meals like this, along with other smaller meals throughout the day.

You pick very starchy vegetables, 3 0r 4 potatoes? Are they the little redskinned ones? but if you are seeing the changes you desire on this regimen, keep it up!

If you are having a post workout shake of simple sugars and protein, you may think about making that meal consisting of proteins and fats and have it a bit sooner than 1.5 hrs. The reason being, for one your insulins sensitivity at that time is pretty poor, and healthy fats(omega 3's and veggies) along with your protein will help restore insulin sensitivity. Gastric emptying will occur fairly quickly also, so the reason for having the meal sooner, to stay out of a catabolic state.

Thanks guys, the potatoes are the new type and unfortunately I dont eat to many other vegies although I'am trying, after 6 years of poor eating its been hard to get back to normal, but I'am getting there slowly, it took me long enough to be able to eat the brocolli, but progress is being made, and its getting easier.
What would be a good way to increase my fat intake?
what if I removed the corn, peas and potatoes, and replaced them with say 4 eggs, and splashed a bit of olive and flaxseed oil on the brocolli, followed by some peanuts. That would be a good start, would'nt it?

Also, I'am making good progress with my diet the way it is, but am always looking for ways to do things better. There is always room for improvement. :-)

Again, if you are doing a simple carb/protein shake post workout, I would not have any starchy carbs with my next meal, or the corn for the reasons already mentioned. Do a tbsp. of flax oil, somelean protein and some good fibrous veggies like broccoli, aspargus, brussel sprouts, etc. (corn is not a good veggie for you, remember, it is what dextrose is derived from!)
