Hello. I get up and jog in the morning before work, so far I usually don't eat till about an hour after my workout (on my way to work). I am wondering if it would be more benefitial to grab something little to eat before my morning work-out, or if I should be eating right after or what? And, also, what would be appropriate to eat? Thanks very much for anyones advice, I really appreciate it. Have a great day*!~

Depends on where you are, your goals, etc. Generally speaking, it is a bad idea to exercise in a fasted state. However, if you are pretty much overweight, you will not get hurt by this. (cardio only on an empty stomach). However, if you are not fairly significantly overweight, I would suggest at the very least if you are pressed for time some amino acids(protein), about 15-20 gr. pre workout. This will be quickly assimilated and thus readily available in a very short period of time.

You do not mention if you weight train, if so I would never, ever do this in a fasted state. FAsted state being referred to here as first thing in the morning, as you have gone for instance 8 hrs. without eating, depending simply on liver glycogen.

I do strength train as well, but on those days I do it in the evenings, so I'm never in a fasted state. Also, I am not overweight so I will try taking in some protein before my jogs. Thank-you for your reply.
