Quick question. I am looking to cut body fat. I am currently taking protein with skim milk. Is this alright, or would I be better off taking it with water. Honestly, taking it with skim milk tastes 100% better to me, but I was curious as to what you all think. What would be the major difference? Thanks all!!!

Depends on your total nutrition intake and your protein breakdown. I prefer it with skim milk and a little flax seed oil but I don't ingest enough fats without supplementing. Some healthy fat intake helps me when cutting body fat.

I take my shakes with water or soy milk. Taste okey as well.

Mike is right, it depends on your total daily calorie intake.

After a workout I use water and if I take it before bed I use nonfat milk.

I find that my shake (GNC brand) is much harder to mix with milk. It's so lumpy. Maybe a blender would help.

Bretto, my first protein shake (non GNC brand, but bought from GNC) was that way. Yuck!! The cheaper brands tend to not mix well at all. Spend a little more next time on a better brand and you'll notice a big difference...

Hey, Nina - Soy Milk? Never heard of it... what is it? Is it some soybean product? Does it taste good? I'm trying to find natural sources of soy protein that I can eat everyday, so I don't have to rely on Soy Protein powders (gets expensive at $10 every two weeks)... I assume soy milk has soy protein in it??

If you live in the U.S., you should be able to find soy milk in both the dairy section or the oriental foods section at the local grocery store.

Yes, soy milk is made by soy beans AND it has a nice taste as well.
BUT read the nutrition labels when you buy your soy milk and buy the one with only soy beans and water. No, sugar, salt or any other funny things!!!

Mazzgolf, I don't know if your taking soy just for the sake of taking soy, but if you want the best protein supplement in shake form, WHEY protein powder is considered by many to be superior because it is the easiest for your body to absorb. Prices vary, but at 20 to 40 grams of protein per serving it should last you long enough to be cost effective.
