What is a good protein bar to get in case of a jam?
I'd like to keep a few in my car in case I find myself w/o food and need to eat.
Any decent, low cal, low fat, low sugar, high protein ones out there?
TIA!:)

ive been down with "protein 2 go lately", as its the only one readily available in this crummy town. just check the labels.. low cal may relate to a low carb bar for you, and for low fat look for no trans or no/low saturated fats (monounsaturates and polyunsaturates are good)

I'd go with met-rx they have many diffrent bars and meal replacement bars if you want lower calories and high protein without sacrificing taste these bars are great.

Good one....I usually opt for these if I have to have one. I avoid soy like the plague, and hard to find one without it. Labrada caramel almond fudge is a tasty one with no or very little soy. Designer bars all have no soy also.

I know this may not be the "in" thing to say, but I actually like the ProteinPlus Bar by PowerBar as much as anything. One of the lowest Fat/Calorie to Protein ratios of any of the protein bars -- 24 g of protein for only 5 grams of fat and 290 calories. Little heavier on the carbs at 38g. Tastes just fine. And very available (shoot -- you can probably pick them up at your local Osco Drug Store).

just look at bodybuilding.com supersite and click "bars" on the pop down menu... there you can see bars based on a lot of things. and it should be cheap but the best thing is that you can compare bars and find what works best.... good luck
