Hi... I had always only used 100% ON's protein powder for my PWOs, but today i realized there was another product where I buy my supplements, that not only cost less, but in some aspects was even better than that which I was used to using... It was a two pounds bottle (protein isolate) made by Premium Nutrition... But I'm not too sure it was an actual good purchase, since my instincts are telling me this cheapper product might give me undesired side effects (aka gas)... heh...
anyhoo, so i'm just creating this thread so we can all post about the different brands of protein that we've come across, so people can have an idea of what is good and what is not... I've used 100% ON forever (100% ON Whey Isolate - strawberry/vanilla, that is), and it was great... only 23gr of protein per serving (28gr. serving), but for the price it's worth to just do two scoops per shake (cheapest option i've seen around)... Taste was a straight 10/10... It also has some l-glutamine and some other stuff, but I'll just keep it as that, I guess... I'll be posting back on Premium Nutrition's product in a week or so, as I'll have something to post about it... So yeah, if you guys would post what you've used and what your thoughts are about it, that'd be great... Thanks! -------------- The following sentence is true. The previous sentence is false. |

I'm still pretty new to supplements. So far i've only had GNC's vanilla Designer Pro. I got it with the 20% gold card discount plus it was on sale. $17 for a 2.4lb container.
46 servings: 18gr protein and 18 BCAAs per serving. Not bad...I'm sure there's better, I checked around and actually found the exact same thing for 70% less. At least GNC has a good return policy. |

I am using Bio-X whey Isolate. 30 protein, 0.5 fat 0.5 carbs in a 36 grm scoop
I also use syntrax nectar 23 protein o fat 0 carbs, 25 gram scoop size. It is very important to know the amount of protein per serving against the scoop size. The percentage tells you the amount of protein per scoop. You might be paing for filler! Check out www.trueprotein.com bb1 gave me this site and it's pretty cool. You can pick out the protein you want then buy flavor packs to add to it. Kinda like making your own pizza.

i've always used on's chocolate pro complex because i love the taste in water, but i think next go-round i might do trueprotein.com or proteinfactory.com and just make my own. i think it would save money and there is something about being able to custom blend that just really appeals to me.-------------- i wish you ill, ice-t. margarine is a liar who announces, "i am butter!" |

ok, looked at the trueprotien.com and is it really cheaper to buy? I use ON and love it, looked at the site and the Whey Protien is $4 a pound and has 23g of protien per 30g serving. On has 23g of protien per 28g serving. I am wondering with shipping, flavors, and protien/per/gram..is it worth it? A direct quote from their site:
" Well our most common scoop is our 70cc scoop, which comes out to about 25-30 grams of protein per scoop" ON has 46g of protien in 56g of powder. I like the whole "flavor" thing..but how is it really for taste and function? Sorry to question so much, just doesnt really add up in sorts, so asking for people to point out the obvious to me!! |

It definitely does save money, I have been using both of them for quite a while. They have some tasty flavors also. I liked the orange cream alot personally.
I also just for info do a 65/35 blend of hydrolosate/isolate for post workout. ============ Quoting from howdiekat: i've always used on's chocolate pro complex because i love the taste in water, but i think next go-round i might do trueprotein.com or proteinfactory.com and just make my own. i think it would save money and there is something about being able to custom blend that just really appeals to me. ============= -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

bb1..since you have bought from them, you will know..how does it be cheaper? Like I posted from their site, 70g serving to get 25-30g of protien??? When ON has 23g in a 28g serving, I am really confused! I dont mind paying a little more to be able to flavor my own, but am thinking of just buying their flavors and buying more ON natural. Like I said, your using it..so figgured you could explain it for me, cause I honestly want to know and do value your thoughts. Thanks, Cody
