HI- I'm new to this site and have been reading around. I was wondering what brands of protein shakes are affordable and good. Thanks

I like Optimum Nutrition's 100% whey protein. It is cheap, low in carbs, lots of good amino acids and the double chocolate is the best tasting protein powder I've tasted so far.

I have to second jsvez post, ON's 100% Whey Protein is the best and most affordable protein you can get. I also get the double chocolate flavor.

Hope this helps

I like the MATRIX from prolab; they come in individual packets (powdered form) I give them to the drive-up coffee shack lady on the way back to work from my worouts and she mix's em up for me with fruit and stuff.
I think the packets are alot more affordable than the pre mixed shakes in the can.

Yo Ellie,

Make that 3 votes for Optiumum's 100% whey. I use the vanilla. If you buy the 10 pound bag, you save even more. I've mentioned elsewhere on the site that you can mix a little sugar-free Jello powder to the vanilla whey to add some flavor variety (so you're not stuck with 10 pounds of just chocolate or just vanilla). Then you're only limited by the available flavors of sugar-free gelatin. I've used cherry, strawberry, lemon, lime, and some blue version of Jello that made it look like I was drinking Windex... It's all good, though.

TSMD

PS: Never drink Windex(TM). It's poisonous and contains way too many empty carbs.

I have recently been enjoying my GNC Egg and Whey protein lately. i've seen great results, something you don't always expect from GNC. but when i'm done i'm going to order another Egg and Whey protein from trueprotein.com/ just because of the better prices
