Just wanted to put a thanks out there to whomever(I can't remember) mentioned doing negatives if you couldn't do a pull-up. I posted before that I couldn't do one to save my life, so I tried some negatives today and also tried a pull-up, maybe moved up 1", but I tried! I might not have even tried if not for the advice here. And the best part is that I can really see myself doing pull-ups in my future. It's my goal. I've always been afraid to form a goal because I didn't want to fail, but now I really feel confident that I can form concrete goals and work towards them. Thanks for being such a great supportive community!!

Sounds great and I don't think I remember the post and can't find it but most likely was one of the regs around the board who knows... at least you didn't give up.. hey who knows... soon you'll be cranking out pull-ups like crazy wondering how you couldn't do them before...

Can you tell me how to go about doing the negatives. I would like to give it a try. I've always wanted to do at least one pull up myself. Metraa you're motivating me to get out there and set the same goal! Thanks :)

OliveU2, negatives are done by starting at the top of a movement, in this case, the top of the bar, and slowly lower the weight(yourself).
