Ive recently set up a heavy punching bag in my basement and have really enjoyed the workout i get from using it. I was wondering if its ok to do this soon after i lift or if it will have any impact on what i have just done. any information or advice would be great..thanks
If you have ever used a heavy bag...and really worked on punching techniques you will know that it is a major muscle workout too. I take martial arts 2 times a a week and on the Monday clas we focused 45 min of the class on just punching the bag properly and for 3 days I was in such pain I felt like I had done the shoulder/tricep/upper back workout of a lifetime!
LOL
Hey there Elbarto4, as Lonegirl mentioned, working out on a heavy bag is a separate workout. I train in Martial Arts as well and do a lot of bag work and it can leave you sore as hell if you realy put the effort in. I would not recomend doing bag work after lifting. When you do bag work start slow on the bag for a good 5 to 10 min warm every thing up then stretch arms and shoulders back and neck and legs and hips if you are kicking too. Take 15 min for a good stretch then work out on the bag and stretch again when done and dont just stop slow down first for the last 5 min.
